How to Introduce AI and Machine Learning in your existing Surveillance System
There are various Video Management Softwares in the market right now but the OEM's that have been moving towards new technologies like Artificial Intelligence , Machine Learning , Augmented Reality will definetily will have a brighter future . The todays real world demands real practical implementations like the restricted no of people in a defined zones , allowing only authorised vehicles and persons in a premises , Under Vehicle Surveillance System ( UVSS ) for scanning vehicles for unwanted threats , Automatic Number Plate Recognition ( ANPR) , People recognition at Airports ( Face Detection ), Perimeter Defence System for UAV's or drones and unauthorised access could not have been possible without AI or ML implementation in VMS these days .
It is better to have a Surveillance System that can warn you or can alarm before occurence of an event and rather after the event . So the modern technology demands a better solution than the old simple ones . Certain commercial units like Malls , Power Plants , Strong Rooms , Police and Control Units , Airports and strong security areas cannot run with simple footage storing units any more.
If someone wants to upgrade from a simple footage storing units to more advanced AI and ML based systems they don't require to destroy their existing CCTV Infrastructure . They must ask their OEMs and Integrator Consultants if the new analytical software can be integrated with their existing infrastructures . Since most of the CCTVs and their management softwares supports ONVIF protocols a new plugins or compatible metadata software can be linked with their Management Servers .In some cases or at some strategic locations they need to replace their existing cameras with more specific sensors to support your AI requirement .
Various OEMs ( Honeywell , Hikvision , Dahua , Milestone )have been working in these fields and have upgraded their survelliance systems from these perspective .
