Some Of the checkpoints before designing a Fire Alarm System for a Project !!

1. Do you require an analogue Fire Alarm System or an addressable Fire Alarm System ?

2.You require your backbone over armoured cable or cable inside conduit will be more efficient ?

3. Do your project requires seamless software Integration with your Voice Evacuation System or just a limited zone wise control integration with PA system .

4. If your Hooters cum strobes and Voice Evacuation system is separated zonewise or not .

5. If your HVAC Systems ( Chillers , AHU's , Dampers ,Flow Axial Fans , Ventillation Fans ) , Lift Panels , Fire Fighting Systems ( Flow Switches , Emergency Bell , Sprinklers) are integrated or not .

6. If Fire Fighting Telephones required or not .

7. If NOVAC and other gas suppression systems are properly integrated with your FAS system.

8. If your basements have provisions of CO sensors or not ??

9. If duct detectors have been used or not ??

10.If Beam sensors have been used for double heights .

11. If your Kitchens have more specific Heat Detectors.

12. If detectors have been used for concealed ceilings .

13. If your PA system has highest priority for Evacuation Messages and Emergency Alarms .

14.If your Access Control is integrated with FAS system or not

15. If your toilets have detectors for sensing fire events.

16. If the SPL for your evacuation messages are clear at every corner of your premises.

17. If BACNET / MODBUS and other important communication protocols with BMS system is there in your panel.

18. If BMS integration is proposed or not.

19.If you haven't clearly mentioned of fortnight mandatory testing of your FAS system.

20.If a replacement of CO sensors have been suggested to client or not. Remember CO sensors work on chemical reactions and the have a maximum lifespan of 5 years.
